Top 3 Dad Memories

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

My top 3 fondest memories with my Dad....

#1 I remember when my dad was going to school to be a mechanical engineer at the University of Iowa, and occasionally he would wake up extra early to make a stop before taking my twin sister and me to daycare.  We would stop at none other than Dunkin' Donuts!  My favorite donut he would buy for me was the glazed one with little cherry bits all over.  I would always pick off all the cherries to eat first.  Then my sister and I would stall and eat as slowly as possible!

#2 My father-daughter dance at my wedding is one I will always remember.

#3 My father is quite the handy man extraordinaire.  He did electrical, hung signs, fixed everything, assembled furniture, and pretty much anything we needed help with to get the Treehouse back open in six weeks with the remodel going on.  He drove 6 hours round trip for 3 months weekly to help out, and he still drives up here often for more projects!  My dad rocks!  Thanks Dad!

Cinderella Wedding Moment

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

The way family and friends just came together to support my husband and I as we embarked on the marriage journey has to be one of the fondest memories I have of my wedding day.  When I was living through the celebration day, I felt so loved by God, my husband, and my family and friends.  I remember having this overwhelming blessed wedding bliss feeling all day long.  Our final couple minutes of wedding day bliss were captured in this photo downtown La Crosse by Jack, our photographer.  I always thought I should Photoshop in a pumpkin carriage along the street in the background because I felt like Cinderella all day long.

Finding a special gift for the family and friends who you support on their wedding day can be easy at our store.  Give them that Cinderella feeling when they see what you chose for them.  We have added a gift registry in store and also online for desktop computers as well.  Join us and celebrating 2018 weddings.

Graduation Memories

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

I remember giving our Graduation speech with my twin sister the day we crossed the stage in high school.  What wonderful memories I have of our small town Benton High School.  I remember feeling somewhat relieved, somewhat anxious, and somewhat scared of what would come next.  I was headed to UW-Platteville in the fall, and decided to major in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing & Sales.  Later, I added on a Major in Communication Technologies with an emphasis in Public Relations.  Wow, I am happy to have had all that knowledge poured into me now that I operate the Treehouse!

Come see what we have in store and online to bless the graduate in your life.

My Favorite Teacher Memory

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

My favorite teacher memory had to be when my twin sister got lost in Mexico City on our Spanish Trip to see the Virgin of Guadalupe.  The whole way there we were getting sick in the very back of the bus where the air conditioner was loud and not really functioning.  The tour guide and teacher kept saying hundreds of people would be at the site and not to stray from the group.  They even told us of a place to go if we got lost.  Of course, my sister was looking down at everyone's feet and walking, and eventually looked up to see who she was following, and saw nobody she recognized.  Meanwhile, I was asking Mrs. Stenulson where Lindsay was as we were lining up to go in the Shrine.  We kept combing the group and eventually lined everyone up to find my sister really was missing.  We searched that crowd up and down and couldn't find her even though she had to be one of the few blonds among a sea of dark hair.  Finally, 20 minutes later, which seemed like hours among hundreds of thousands of people, our tour guide comes dragging my crying sister back to the group.  My teacher and I looked at each other with a sign of relief.  After that, she made us hold hands through the shrine the whole day!  She deserved a nice teacher gift!  Come see what we have in store for your favorite teacher!
