Why Local Love?

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

We spread Local Love by supporting Local Artists and Local Businesses with many of the products we carry.  We currently support over 40 local artists in our store.  I love our commitment to helping great artists feature their work in our store.  We also give a venue to budding artists who are just getting started on their business journey.  We want to support their efforts to live the American Dream.

People always joke about "starving artists," and I see a very real barrier to getting started in the artist world.  Often times an artist's work is so time consuming and then adding the business end to it all can make success very difficult for many to ever sell on the open market.  We are blessed to have a location with enough space where the community can come together and see a variety of styles of art.

We feature most of the artists upstairs in the local artist gallery, and some all throughout the store.  You will see the local love symbol in small frames or on the tag of most of our local products.

We are now searching for several more artists to be featured in a new artist event.  More details will come on the timing of this event.  Contact our store if you are interested in becoming one of our featured local artists!  Come browse, escape, and relax while shopping our local art! Shop Local!

Top 3 Dad Memories

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

My top 3 fondest memories with my Dad....

#1 I remember when my dad was going to school to be a mechanical engineer at the University of Iowa, and occasionally he would wake up extra early to make a stop before taking my twin sister and me to daycare.  We would stop at none other than Dunkin' Donuts!  My favorite donut he would buy for me was the glazed one with little cherry bits all over.  I would always pick off all the cherries to eat first.  Then my sister and I would stall and eat as slowly as possible!

#2 My father-daughter dance at my wedding is one I will always remember.

#3 My father is quite the handy man extraordinaire.  He did electrical, hung signs, fixed everything, assembled furniture, and pretty much anything we needed help with to get the Treehouse back open in six weeks with the remodel going on.  He drove 6 hours round trip for 3 months weekly to help out, and he still drives up here often for more projects!  My dad rocks!  Thanks Dad!

Cinderella Wedding Moment

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

The way family and friends just came together to support my husband and I as we embarked on the marriage journey has to be one of the fondest memories I have of my wedding day.  When I was living through the celebration day, I felt so loved by God, my husband, and my family and friends.  I remember having this overwhelming blessed wedding bliss feeling all day long.  Our final couple minutes of wedding day bliss were captured in this photo downtown La Crosse by Jack, our photographer.  I always thought I should Photoshop in a pumpkin carriage along the street in the background because I felt like Cinderella all day long.

Finding a special gift for the family and friends who you support on their wedding day can be easy at our store.  Give them that Cinderella feeling when they see what you chose for them.  We have added a gift registry in store and also online for desktop computers as well.  Join us and celebrating 2018 weddings.

Graduation Memories

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

I remember giving our Graduation speech with my twin sister the day we crossed the stage in high school.  What wonderful memories I have of our small town Benton High School.  I remember feeling somewhat relieved, somewhat anxious, and somewhat scared of what would come next.  I was headed to UW-Platteville in the fall, and decided to major in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing & Sales.  Later, I added on a Major in Communication Technologies with an emphasis in Public Relations.  Wow, I am happy to have had all that knowledge poured into me now that I operate the Treehouse!

Come see what we have in store and online to bless the graduate in your life.
