3 Tips for Your Perfect Shoffice, She Shed, or He Shed!
Posted by Cassandra Birdd on
What is a Shoffice? It’s also known as the backyard Shed Office! It’s the perfect place for your at home office where you can still get away to take care of business. The concept is very similar to the she shed or he shed!
Having you own Shoffice will help you in many ways. You’ll get away from pets barking and children crying right when you get on the phone, the Shoffice may be the perfect way to run your career from home.
Tip #1: Make it cozy, but not too cozy. You’ll want to be able to get work done in comfort, but you don’t want it so comfortable that you don’t get work done. Try finding a desk to fit your unique style, and adding a very comfy leather desk chair. Then add a soft cozy throw to wrap around you when it starts to get cold in Wisconsin!
Tip #2 Bring in some live plants & seasonal decor. Fresh oxygen helps to keep your brain thinking and beautiful greens have a very calming affect. Try adding some sunflower vases for a little color to inspire your creativity.
Tip #3 Stock the fridge. To avoid the temptation to just go in the house every hour, stock your fridge with all your favorite drinks and a few snacks so lunch breaks can be enjoyed in the shoffice. Having a few small snacks throughout the day can keep you more alert for the workday! You may just need a little Amish Candy to keep you going!
If you need tips for decorating your Shoffice come by the Treehouse, and we will help you make your Shoffice happen!

How to Clean Your Willow Tree Figurines
Posted by Cassandra Birdd on
Willow Tree® figurines are beautiful, intricate, and timeless decor options that show your love for God. Many families treat them as precious heirlooms, passing them down between generations. However, to do this, you must take proper care of your angels. These delicate creations require special maintenance, and below are a few tips for the best results.
4 Steps to Clean Your Willow Tree Angel Figurine
1. Get Rid of Dust
To start, clean the statue and make sure dirt and dust aren’t disturbing the surface. This will ensure that any cleaning products you use will apply evenly. Start by taking a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wiping down the figurine to remove any debris. Don’t use a paper towel or other rough surface, as these can scratch the wood.
2. Remove Rust
Rust can develop on the metal wings of a Willow Tree angel if they experience humidity inside the home. If you do not address this promptly, it can lead to damage and permanent discoloration. To avoid this problem, use fine-grit sandpaper and gently buff away any rust. Do this with a light hand to avoid damaging or disjointing any of the pieces. To prevent rust from reappearing, use a ceiling fan or dehumidifier in the summer to remove moisture from the air.
3. Wipe It Down
Next, create a solution that contains equal parts of warm water and mild detergent. While the water is still warm, dip a soft, non-abrasive cloth in the mixture and gently clean the entirety of the figurine—except for the wings. Getting the wings wet could cause rust to form, so avoid this area.
4. Dry It Off
Using a clean, soft cloth, gently dry the figurine until no more moisture remains on the wood. Then, if you are not displaying it, store it in a cool, dark place to keep it from accumulating dust or moisture. If you want to show the angel off to guests, place it somewhere that doesn’t receive direct sunlight. This will ensure the color doesn’t fade.
If you want to add to your collection of Willow Tree figurines, visit Treehouse Gift & Home in Onalaska, WI. They’re one of the largest gift shops in the state and offer an extensive inventory of exquisite, one-of-a-kind items from national and local artists. Visit them online to view their products.
