The Greatest Love Stories

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

Since February is the month of Love, we plan to bring you 4 weeks of Love Stories from our Treehouse Staff.  First up, Cassandra's pick for the Greatest LOVE Story.

Knowing that Love is mentioned in the King James Bible 310 times, I feel the greatest love story of all time is God so loving the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for our sins, to take our place, to pay our debt and allow us all access to him again.  We can completely bypass death when we simply repent,  be baptized in his name, and receive the Holy Spirit. What a perfect love story between God and man.

Jesus explains the two most important commandments involve LOVE in Mark 12:30-31: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  There is none other commandment greater than these.  Again, LOVE becomes the cornerstone of our instructions from the Lord.

Lastly, Corinthians has something wonderful to say about LOVE.  And, now abides faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Spread some LOVE this month!

New Year, New You!

Posted by Cassandra Birdd on

Join us in ringing in the New Year!  Most of us begin to reflect on 2018 and will resolve to change, increase, continue, or delete something from our lives. A wise pastor once told me we are all given the same 24 hours in the day.  He challenged us to "squirrel away" or store up treasures in heaven instead of treasures on earth and referenced this verse:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:19‭-‬21

Why then, I must ask myself was I led to reopen a store whose jingle sings "The Treehouse, Treasures from the Heart."

My treasure is in the heart of our prayer corner. My heart delights in the witnesses to the power of prayer through our clients, family, and friends who have come to pray for others in the community, and ask for prayer for their needs as well. I will be "squirreling away" all the prayer requests and providing a safe encouraging corner for their delivery to the faithful Lord who says ask, and it shall be given you.  And, pray without ceasing.

What will you squirrel away in 2019?

All of our loyal clients help us keep the doors open to this community prayer corner. And, I say thank you for your support.

I look forward to God continuing to unravel his plan with our store in 2019. Stay tuned, for his plans are always better than my own. My request is that you pray the Lord keeps guiding and directing our store according to his will for 2019 and that great revival and fulfillment may come to those who place their prayers in our corner.
